Who this policy covers

This Privacy Policy explains how Adori AI, Inc. ("we", "our" or "us") collects, shares and otherwise processes information about people who use Podeo.ai. Adori AI, Inc. is registered in Delaware, United States, with its registered office at 18582 Allendale Avenue, Saratoga, CA 95070.

It applies to the Podeo marketing site at podeo.ai, the Podeo application at app.podeo.ai, and to our marketing, sales and support activity. "You" means any person who uses Podeo or submits information to us. If anything in this policy is unacceptable to you, please do not use Podeo or send us personal information.

Podeo is a web product. We do not publish a desktop application or a mobile application, and this policy does not cover any other product operated by Adori AI, Inc.

What we mean by personal information

"Personal information" is defined by the federal and state law that applies to you. In general it is information that identifies you, describes you, or could reasonably be linked to you.

Where the law requires your consent, we will ask for it before we send you marketing about Podeo, before we read information stored on your device about how you use our site, and before we use automated systems to analyse your content. You can withdraw that consent at any time.

What we collect

When you create an account or contact us

When you register for Podeo, or contact us for support, we collect information that identifies you:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Company name, where you give it
  • Country
  • IP address
  • Payment and billing information, for paid plans
  • The content of your support conversations with us

When you use the site and the app

We collect information about how Podeo is used. Depending on whether you are signed in, this may or may not be linked to you:

  • IP address, browser type and device type
  • The page that sent you to Podeo, and the search terms that led you here
  • Which pages and features you use, collected through cookies and through our servers when you are signed in
  • Diagnostic and crash information when something goes wrong

The audio and video you upload

To turn an episode into a video, Podeo has to receive and process the audio file you upload, along with any images, video and text you add. This is covered in detail under "Your content" below.

When you sign in with Google

You can sign in to Podeo with a Google account. Where you give permission, we receive basic profile information from that account, such as your name and email address.

Your content

You keep all rights and ownership in the audio, video, images and text you upload to Podeo. We do not claim ownership of it.

We access your content only as far as we need to in order to run the service: to generate your video, to answer a support request you have made, to investigate fraud, security or technical problems, and to enforce our terms. Our automated systems process your content in order to produce your video, and may analyse it using techniques such as machine learning to improve the quality of the service.

If you delete your content, we remove it from the live service. Copies may remain in routine backups for a limited period before those backups age out.

  • Handling legal claims, regulatory requests and investigations

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. We have not done either in the past twelve months.

We do use service providers who process information on our behalf, under contract and only for the purposes we set. The main ones are:

  • Vercel, which hosts the Podeo website and stores the media files it serves
  • Stripe, which processes payments. Podeo does not store your full card number
  • PostHog, which measures how the website and the app are used
  • Google and YouTube, where you choose to sign in with Google or publish a finished video to YouTube

We may also share your personal information:

  • When you tell us to
  • In response to a subpoena, court order or other legal process
  • Where we believe in good faith that it is necessary to prevent fraud, defend Podeo against attack, or protect the safety of our users or the public
  • If we merge with or are acquired by another company, or sell a substantial part of our assets, in which case your information would transfer to the new owner

We may publish aggregate statistics that do not identify anyone, such as how many people use a given feature.

YouTube and Google

Podeo uses Google and YouTube API Services so that you can publish a finished video to your own channel.

By using the YouTube publishing feature you agree, along with us, to comply with YouTube's Terms of Service, the YouTube API Services Terms of Service, and Google's Privacy Policy.

Our use of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Podeo does not read your email, and we do not share Google user data with advertising partners.

You can revoke our access to your Google account at any time from your Google account security settings.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in, to remember your preferences, and to measure how the site is used. A cookie lets a website recognise a device when it returns.

You can set your browser to limit or refuse cookies, though blocking all of them will break parts of Podeo, including staying signed in. We also use similar technologies such as web beacons, which you can block in the same way.

Browsers differ in how they send "Do Not Track" signals and there is still no agreed standard for interpreting them, so Podeo does not currently respond to them.

Security, storage and international transfers

We apply reasonable administrative, technical and physical controls to protect your personal information. No set of controls is completely effective, and we cannot guarantee the security of information you send us.

Podeo is hosted in the United States. Your information is stored on our servers and on the servers of the providers listed above. If you use Podeo from outside the United States, you are transferring your information to the United States, and you agree to it being processed there.

How long we keep it

We keep most of the personal information we hold about you for as long as your account is active. When you close your account we begin deleting what we no longer have a business reason to hold, such as your hashed password and payment account details.

We normally keep records relating to our contract and business transactions with you for seven years after your last interaction with us, because tax and accounting rules require it.

Where we process information for marketing, we stop when you ask us to. We keep a permanent note of the fact that you asked, so that we can honour the request in future.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights. California, Virginia, Colorado and Connecticut each grant their residents specific rights, and residents of the UK, the EU and other countries have comparable rights.

  • The right to know what personal information we have collected about you in the last twelve months, where it came from, why we collected it, and who we shared it with
  • The right to a copy of your personal information in a portable format
  • The right to have mistakes in your personal information corrected
  • The right to have your personal information deleted, subject to exceptions where we are required to keep it
  • The right to limit how we use and disclose sensitive personal information
  • The right to object to processing in some circumstances, including direct marketing, which you can object to at any time
  • The right not to be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights

To exercise any of these rights, email operations@adoriai.com. We aim to respond within 45 days. If we need longer, up to a maximum of 90 days, we will tell you why and how long we need.

We may need more information from you to verify who you are before we act on a request. If an authorised agent submits a request for you, they must provide your signed written permission. There are cases where we cannot fully honour a request, for example where deleting information would breach a legal obligation we have. We will explain if that happens.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your request, you have the right to complain to the data protection authority where you live or work.

Children

Podeo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we delete it as quickly as we can. If you believe we hold information about a child, please contact us.

Changes to this policy

We may change this policy. When we do, we post the updated version on this page and change the date at the top. Changes take effect when they are posted, unless a change in the law requires them to take effect sooner. Please check this page from time to time.
